Floods in Oman kill at least 18 people. (representative)

Iran’s emergency services rescued 21 Sri Lankan crew members from a ship that capsized in a storm in the Gulf of Oman, state media reported on Wednesday.
The Cook Islands-flagged oil tanker sank about 50 kilometers (30 miles) off the southern city of Jask, the Islamic Republic’s official news agency reported.
“A rescue ship was sent to the area and 21 crew members were rescued,” said Mohamed Amin Amani, director of the Jask Port and Maritime Authority.
He added that “five persons in need of medical assistance” were treated by Jask emergency services and “the sailors are in good physical condition.”
Heavy rains have battered the Strait of Hormuz, Oman and the United Arab Emirates since Monday, with flooding killing at least 18 people in Oman.
