IPL 2024 is at its halfway stage. As of now, there appears to be a clear divide between the top performing teams and the laggards. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders are the top three teams while Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the bottom three teams. This time IPL has special significance. Right after IPL 2024, the Indian cricket team will compete in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team for the event is likely to be announced by the end of this month.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, former Australia batsman Aaron Finch painted a grim picture of the three stars who are struggling with poor form.

“I have my eye on two guys, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Hardik Pandya. Two guys who haven’t been in the best form so far in this whole IPL and there’s a bit of pressure on both of them,” Finch, who led the way, said on Star Sports. Australia will win the T20 World Cup title in 2021 and was a member of the 2015 World Cup-winning team.

Finch made these comments ahead of the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians match on Monday, where Jaiswal scored a brilliant unbeaten century. Before his century, Jaiswal had scored 121 runs in seven matches. After scoring 104* against Mumbai Indians, his average in eight matches has increased to 32.14.

When Finch was asked if fast bowling was also a concern, which included none other than Jasprit Bumrah, Finch said, “I think spin can get them out of trouble. I think Kuldeep Yadav His form will be important and he will be in the playing eleven.” I think Arshdeep Singh is a quality bowler, he can swing the new ball both ways. He is not in his best form at the moment but I think he has all the tools to have a good tournament which is a concern for the team. But then we potentially have 10 more games to get some form into the tournament.”
