Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir has announced his decision to reverse his retirement from the national team and prepare to participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup. While Pakistan fans were optimistic about their team’s chances in the showcase tournament, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja was unhappy after hearing about Amir’s return. I am happy to see a stained cricketer like fast bowling return to international cricket. In a candid chat with a Pakistani TV channel, Raja launched a brutal attack on Aamir, saying that if his son did such a thing (repair), he would disown him.

Raja recalled Aamir’s commentary career when he committed a heinous cricket crime (fixing). The cricketer-turned-commentator recalled the hate he received for players caught committing such acts of corruption on the field. Therefore, he does not believe that tainted cricketers do not deserve a second chance.

“My views on Mohammad Amir are very straightforward. I have not sworn to correct cricket but I believe it is important for society and the fans to understand. I was in God’s commentary when he was involved in correcting it and I could feel it because I was calling out the manipulators and the hatred developed against me was overwhelming. The amount of criticism I received from the media during that time is something I will never forget.

Raja believes that fans should understand that sports are black and white and there is no point in improving. In any case, a tainted cricketer should be expelled. For Ramiz, there is no redemption for players who commit such acts.

“Wherever tainted cricketers exist in the world, they are usually ejected. While I sympathize with them, forgiveness is not in my book. God forbid, if my son does such a thing, I will fight with him Cut off ties,” Raja said.
