India rejected the OIC statement, another attempt by Pakistan to manipulate the group.

India has strongly rejected the organization of the recent statement of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), called it “absurd” as it has refused to recognize the facts of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its border.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on Tuesday that OIC had no right to intervene in India’s internal affairs.

In response to media questions about the OIC group’s statement in New York, he said, “The statement of the OIC at the behest of Pakistan, the Pahlgam terrorist attack and its border is absurd in refusing to identify the facts of the linkage from its border.”

He said, “This is still another attempt by Pakistan, which has been engaged in terrorism for a long time, to manipulate and mislead the OIC group to issue a self-serving statement. We reject OIC’s intervention on cases that are internal for India,” he said.

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April condemned global and despite Pakistan’s aggressive tasks such as missile tests amid tension with India, OIC chose to express its solidarity with Islamabad.

According to Eri News, the OIC Group said in its statement that it appreciates the offer of good offices made by the UN Secretary -General and calls the international community including the United Nations Security Council and the influential states to take immediate and reliable measures to reduce the situation.

According to the report, the group confirmed its “government and unwavering solidarity with the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. The statement also made some comments about India.

Pakistan had called for an emergency UNSC consultation under serious international pressure after the Pahalgam attack. However, at a closed door meeting held in New York, UNSC members raised difficult questions for Pakistan, sources in New York told ANI.

He said that the members refused to accept the story “False flags” by the Pakistani side and asked if the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Tabiba, who was prosecuted with deep relations for Pakistan, was likely to attend the terrorist attack, he said.

Sources said that there was a recognition of widespread condemnation and accountability of the terrorist attack. Some members especially targeted tourists on the basis of their religious belief.

No statement was published after “closed consultation” by the United Nations Body, requested by Pakistan, a non-established member of the council. (AI)
