The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in an advisory asked Indian citizens already in Rakhine State to leave immediately.

“In view of the deteriorating security situation, disruption of telecommunications means such as landlines and severe shortage of essential goods, all Indian citizens are advised not to travel to Rakhine State in Myanmar,” the statement said.

“Those Indian citizens already in Rakhine State are advised to leave the state immediately,” the MEA said.
