An auto driver has been arrested in Hyderabad for stabbing his wife to death on suspicion of infidelity. The incident was recorded on Tuesday morning in a two-bedroom government-owned flat in JNNURM Colony in Abdullapurmet, Hyderabad.

The accused, identified as Vijay, took his 41-year-old wife Pushpalatha to his sister’s newly allotted vacant 2BHK house on the pretext of cleaning it.

There, Vijay allegedly attacked Pushpalatha with a knife and stabbed her to death. He then decapitated her and kept it aside in the flat, according to a report. india time Said quoting the police.

After committing the crime, Vijay came out of the flat in blood stained clothes, due to which the local people were shocked and raised an alarm.

Police immediately reached the spot and took Vijay into custody. The police also recovered Pushpalata’s beaded torso and severed head from her sister’s flat and also seized the murder weapon from her possession.

Vijay has been booked under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), while Pushpalata’s body has been sent to the Osmania Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

According to police, Vijay and Pushpalatha were married 15 years ago and the couple has two children. The couple has a strained relationship as Vijay doubts his wife’s fidelity and harasses her frequently.

Recently, Vijay has left his family and home once. He returned after Pushpalata filed a missing case.

In 2014, Pushpalatha, who was reportedly enrolled in a beautician course, had filed a case of attempt to murder against Vijay at the Medipally police station for assaulting her.
