Hundreds of people participate in ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ Cyclothon in Srinagar

The calm surroundings of Dal Lake came alive with energy and enthusiasm as hundreds of cycling enthusiasts attended the ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ organized by Jammu AMD Kashmir Armed Police on Sunday.

The event, which has now become an annual tradition, attracted the participants from all areas of life, which is at the age of ten to sixty years. The participants were seen cycling with a beautiful route around the famous Dal Lake.

Cyclothon aims to promote fitness, healthy life and positive engagement among people.

Addressing the media, Additional Director General of JK Armed Police, Anand Jain said, “Cycle Through Paradise” is our annual stability. Every year, JK Police conducts this bicycle race. People above 5 to 60 years of age have participated in it. It sends a message that we are also a message to direct our fitness. “

He said, “Especially competent women and men also participated in good numbers. All of them have participated with great enthusiasm. It also sends a message to the youth to stay away from drugs and maintain their fitness. So that they can improve themselves and contribute to nation-building,” he said.

Earlier, in preparation for the incident, the Srinagar Traffic Police announced on Saturday that Buleward Road would be closed for the movement of vehicles on Sunday morning.

According to a traffic advisor issued by the department, the stretch via Lalit Ghat (police golf course) through Shalimar and from Lalit Ghat to Pandach will be off-limit for general traffic between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm.

Earlier, on 15 July, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council organized a cyclothon ‘Pedal for Peace’ as a lively performance of unity, fitness and youth empowerment. A large number of participants were also seen in this program. (AI)
