The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently launched the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ scheme to prevent users from using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles and vice versa. The move is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and streamlining the toll collection process across the country. So, how does this affect you? How to update FASTag KYC?
There are many ways through which you can easily update KYC for FASTag. We’ve listed three different ways.
Update FASTag KYC through NHAI official website
step 1: access and log in using your registered mobile number.
Step 2: Once done, go to the dashboard menu and click on the My Profile option.
Step 3: On the My Profile page you will find the KYC option. Click on it and select “Customer Type”.
Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and tick Mandatory Declaration to update your FASTag KYC.
It’s worth noting that once you’ve submitted all your documents, KYC usually takes seven working days to get approved.
Update FASTag KYC through bank website
If you can log into the FASTag website, then you can directly visit your partner bank website and follow the steps below:

Step 2: Select your FASTag issuing bank and click on the link on the website.
Step 3: Log in to the respective FASTag issuing bank using your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and you will be able to update your FASTag KYC.

Another way to update FASTag KYC is to go to the bank. You need to do the following:
step 1: Go to the nearest FASTag issuing bank with your PAN, identity document, address proof and passport size photograph.
Step 2: Ask the bank representative for the KYC form of FASTag.
Step 3: Submit completed forms and documents. The bank will verify the form and process it.
Step 4: Once your FASTag KYC is updated, you will receive email and SMS notifications.
Documents required to update FASTag KYC
As per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, you must provide one of the following official valid documents (OVD) to ensure KYC compliance:
- Valid passport
- drving license
- Voter ID
- Permanent Account Number (PAN)
- Adhar
- NREGA job card endorsed by state officials
Furthermore, in addition to these KYC documents, you must also submit a copy of your vehicle registration certificate (RC).
How to check FASTag KYC status online?
You can check the status of FASTag by following these simple steps:
Step 1: Visit and log in using your registered mobile number.
Step 2: Once completed, go to the dashboard menu and click on the My Profile option.
Step 3: You will find your KYC status here.
