Two bodies have been discovered during a search for a missing couple who were allegedly murdered by a senior police officer in Sydney, Australia.

New South Wales police said on Tuesday the remains found at a property in the southern Sydney town of Bungonia were believed to be those of Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29 ).

Police said formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police claim the couple were murdered by Senior Constable Beau Lamar-Condon last week and say a post-mortem examination will be carried out to confirm the cause of death.

Police said Baird’s former colleagues received text messages on his phone during the night. The person behind these messages has not yet been identified, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reports.

Wednesday, February 21st

Police were called to Mr Baird’s property after blood-stained items belonging to Mr Baird and Mr Davis were found in a skip in Cronulla, southeast of Sydney.

Chief Doherty said police believe the property where “large amounts of blood” were found is where the alleged murder occurred.

Chief Doherty added that a pellet allegedly consistent with a police firearm was found at the scene.

Police are appealing for information as the couple’s disappearance comes to light.

Friday, February 23

Mr Lamar-Condon handed himself in at Bondi Beach police station. He was transferred to Waverley Police and charged with murdering the two men.

The van was found on Friday near where blood was found in the hopper.

Investigators spoke to Mr Lamar-Condon at Silverwater Prison in Sydney’s west.

He allegedly told police where the body was.

At 3:30 pm local time, senior police held a press conference saying that two bodies had been found at a second property in Bungonia.

“While the bodies have not been formally identified, they are believed to be those of Luke Davis and Jesse Baird.

“An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death” a statement on the NSW Police website said.
