It has been a sensational few months for Indian cricket team batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal as he has scored two consecutive double centuries in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. Jaiswal, who made his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the domestic circuit, has been a revelation in Test cricket and has earned praise from both fans and experts alike. In a recent conversation, Jaiswal’s father opened up about his son’s success and revealed the role Rajasthan Royals performance director Zubin Bharucha played in guiding the youngster throughout his career. He also recalled how Bharucha personally trained Jaiswal ahead of the IPL season while playing for RR.
“Along with Yashasvi, his coach Zubin Barucha has also worked very hard. He himself used to go and train him. Barucha used to grind Yashasvi till he fell on the ground. It was because of him that Yashasvi reached these heights. Have reached.” Yashasvi Jaiswal’s father said India Today,
He further added, “The whole family is happy and distributing sweets.”
Meanwhile, Jaiswal’s father Bhupendra shared a list of dishes that his son loves to taste. Mutton tops the list.
Jaiswal’s father said, “He loves mutton and he likes rice, dal, bread and curry.”
Yashasvi has a long range of shots that he can play, but one shot that his father especially likes to watch is the sweep shot.
“He plays the sweep shot beautifully and works very hard at it,” his father said.
In the match against England in Rajkot, Jaiswal hit 12 sixes in the second innings. In the process, he equaled Wasim Akram’s record for most sixes hit in a Test innings.
Jaiswal has hit a total of 20 sixes in the series so far, a feat that no player in the world has been able to achieve. But, Jaiswal’s father wants his son to make more records.
He said, “I want him to make his own records and not pay attention to the records made by others.”
