The “heartbreaking” search for a two-year-old boy who disappeared after falling into a river in Leicester has entered its fourth week.

Police previously said they had CCTV footage which they believed showed the moment Shelo fell into the water.

His father went in to try to rescue his son and was taken to hospital as a precaution but has since been discharged.

Shiloh’s parents described him as a “cheeky, funny” boy who was “full of joy”.

“Myself, his father and the whole family are absolutely heartbroken by what happened,” his mother said.

“We just want to find Shelo as soon as possible.”

ACC Kerr thanked Xielo’s family for their “bravery and support” over the past three weeks.

“Our specialist teams are on scene continuing to search for Shelo and our tactics and strategies will be continually reviewed as we move forward,” she said.
