‘He should be celebrated the same way we celebrate Dhoni lady Virat Kohli’: Harbhajan Singh on ‘special player’ | Cricket News

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has heaped praises on England limited-overs skipper and Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler for his performance against Kolkata Knight The Riders put the table leaders across the line with a superb performance in a thrilling final ball chase. In perhaps the most intriguing match of the ongoing IPL season, Royals chased down the joint-highest goal total in the history of the tournament at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

This time around, Buttler departed from his typical slugging approach, opting to settle in and grow in his innings while keeping his team at the required level. However, Buttler chose to go on record saying he was without a partner following the sacking of Rovman Powell, who electrified the crowd at the Eden Gardens with his powerful cameo.

Till the Royals’ 11th over, Buttler was at a strike rate of 132, but in the next 9 overs, he changed his attitude and ended the chase with an unbeaten 107 runs at a strike rate of 178.33.

The league leaders needed to fight for the leather, needing 46 runs from just 18 deliveries, with Buttler hitting four towering sixes and two boundaries to help the Royals pull off a robbery.

In a match that swung back and forth like a pendulum, the 33-year-old Englishman delivered a knock that left not just RR fans in awe but former India spinner Harbhajan as well.

“He is a special player. He is a player of a different level. It is not the first time that Jos Buttler has done this. He has done it many times and we will see him do it many times in the future. Do. He is an unbelievable player. We don’t talk about him much because he is not an Indian player,” Harbhajan said on “Star Sports”.

“If Virat Kohli scores a century, we will be singing his praises for two months, just like we talk about MS Dhoni’s four (three) sixes. We should celebrate him like we celebrate our players because He was also the focal point of one of the legends’ matches,” the former India spinner added.
