The Haryana State Women Commission has summoned Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala to appear before the court on April 18 to explain his remarks against BJP leader Hema Malini during the election campaign in the state.

The BJP immediately lodged a complaint with the European Commission, condemning Randeep Surjewala’s remarks as “vulgar, sexist and derogatory”.

The Election Commission has also taken a stern stance against Randeep Surjewala and issued a show notice for “undignified, uncivilized and vulgar” remarks against the actor-politician.
