Grand Theft Auto 5 has received several updates over the years, adding new content, missions, heists, and more to GTA Online, but the game has never received a story expansion since its initial release in 2013 . Previous reports have mentioned canceled plans for a story DLC for the game, and a recently leaked database file from GTA 5 suggested that developers Rockstar Games had planned to rework Trevor, one of the game’s three main characters. A related story mode DLC has been cancelled. Now, the actor who plays the eccentric character in GTA 5 has said that he “shot some stuff” for the Trevor DLC that never saw the light of day.

In GTA 5 Q&A Stream Actors Steven Ogg, Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno, who played the game’s three protagonists Trevor, Michael and Franklin respectively, revealed some details about the story expansions planned for the game. While Luke noted that Rockstar initially planned to continue the stories of the three career criminals, Ogg detailed a Trevor-focused DLC that was in the works.

“I forget if it was DLC, I have no idea, but Trevor was going to go undercover. He works for the Fed. And we shot some of them with ‘James Bond Trevor,'” Ogg said in the stream. He added, “And we shot some stuff, and then she disappeared, and they never did it and they never followed up.”

Ogg was likely referring to the Trevor DLC, which was discovered when the GTA 5 database file was leaked in November 2023. The leaked file included a string related to Trevor, pointing to a story mode expansion for the game.

Back in 2014, Rockstar did teased, The Newswire post included “some very exciting story mode DLC and more”, but the studio turned its attention to providing new updates for GTA Online and directed resources towards the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, later confirmed. That GTA 5 will not be receiving a story-based expansion. “…we didn’t feel that single-player expansions were possible or necessary, but we may well do them for future projects,” Rockstar said. told Game Informer in 2017.

Rockstar Games has made remarkably ambitious story expansions for its previous games. Grand Theft Auto 4 featured two major story additions, The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, both of which added new protagonists, characters, and storylines that connected to the main game.
