The government will launch a white paper on economic mismanagement by 2014 to learn lessons. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s NDA government came to power in May 2014 after 10 years of the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.

“It’s time to look back at where we were before 2014 and where we are now just to learn lessons from those years of mismanagement. “The government will table a white paper in the House,” Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman said while tabling the next Announced during the interim budget for the fiscal year.

She said that after the Modi government came to power in 2014, it had a huge responsibility to gradually improve the economy and rectify the governance system. She said the need of the hour was to give people hope, attract investment and provide support for much-needed reforms.

“The government has succeeded in doing this with the strong belief of ‘nation first’,” Sitharaman said. She further said that the crisis that year has been overcome and the economy has firmly embarked on the path of sustainable high-speed growth and all-round development.

Sitharaman began her nearly hour-long budget speech by stressing that the Indian economy has undergone profound positive transformation over the past decade. She said the people of India look to the future with hope and optimism.

“When our government came to power in 2014 with the blessings of the people under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country faced huge challenges,” the senior minister said. Sitharaman, who is presenting the sixth budget, said that with “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” as the “mantra”, the government has overcome these challenges seriously.

Deepen structural reforms, promptly formulate and implement policies to benefit the people, and create conditions for more employment and entrepreneurship. “The economy has gained new vitality. The results of development have begun to benefit the people on a large scale. The country has new goals and hopes.

“Naturally, the people bless the government for a greater mandate (in 2019),” she added. Sitharaman said that through the “nationwide” approach of “Sabka Prayas”, the country has overcome the challenges of a once-in-a-century pandemic and taken strides towards “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and is committed to “Panch Pran” , and laid the foundation for a strong foundation for “Amrit Kaal”.

“We expect that our government will once again receive blessings from the people and a resounding mandate based on its excellent work,” the minister said. General elections to elect the next Lok Sabha are likely to be held in April-May this year .
