Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said 250 million people have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty in the past 10 years. She said while presenting the interim budget in the Lok Sabha that early approaches to tackling poverty through rights had little effect. Sitharaman said the transfer of benefits to all eligible citizens is transparent and guaranteed.
She added that the national education policy is ushering in transformational reforms.
