Google will display token balances in wallets running on selected blockchains

In a move to support cryptocurrencies, Google has decided to display crypto wallet balances through a simple Google search. Balance information for wallets based on the Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon and Fantom blockchains will now appear on Google once the wallet address is correctly entered in the search bar. Highly visited online platforms such as Google simplify the digital wallet participation process and can attract more members to the digital wallet field.

The balances that Google will display may not update in real time, and will only display balances in native tokens of blockchains that are eligible for this Google feature. Screenshots of the feature have started circulating on social networking platforms.

However, it is worth noting that blockchain transactions are kept in the public domain. The wallet address does not reveal the identity of the wallet holder. Control of each wallet is stored in a private key owned by the wallet holder.

This development comes at a time when the cryptocurrency industry is in the midst of a bull run. For example, Bitcoin recently hit an all-time high of over $73,000 (approximately Rs. 6.08 crore).Standard Chartered predicts Bitcoin Expected By 2025, the price will reach $200,000 (approximately Rs. 166 crore).

Due to the bull run in the cryptocurrency market and the launch of US ETFs and UK ETNs, more investors are likely to join the cryptocurrency space in the coming days, leading to more people visiting Google to check their wallet balances.

This isn’t the first time Google has integrated such a cryptocurrency-enabled service into search. Earlier this month, Google searches began showing the wallet balances of active holders of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS). ENS compresses complex wallet addresses into human-readable short addresses.
