The Google Pixel 9 series will launch in 2024 and while there’s still a long time for that to happen, the leak-o-sphere has started doing its thing. The design of the new Pixel 9 Pro has been leaked on the internet courtesy of a reliable tipster, which suggests that Google is ready to ditch the curves and switch to a flat display for its next Pixel flagship.

The current Pixel 8 Pro model has curved edges that give it a strong and comfortable grip. But it seems like the company is now looking to follow Apple’s design style that we saw with the iPhone 15 series last year. The Pixel 9 Pro leak via OnLeaks suggests that the phone will have a flat display and bezels along the edges.

Even the back of the phone may have a flat design which is a step away from Google’s current focus. Not only this, it has been reported that the Pixel 9 Pro may get a 6.5-inch display which will be much smaller than the iPhone Pro Max variant and even the Pixel’s predecessor.

The camera module sees minor changes but the bar will stick around, which is probably part of Google’s overall design language these days. Having said that, the camera layout does look a bit slim compared to the larger housing of the Pixel 8 Pro models.

This leak also hints at the continuation of Google’s triple camera system, which may see a major hardware upgrade. We’re also curious to see how the Pixel 9 Pro shapes up against other flagships from 2024, especially with the exciting news of the new Exynos 2400 chipset performing much better than previous Exynos versions.

Google’s Tensor chips have failed to match the premium performance of its competitors, but in the long run this should change which could be a game changer for Google in every aspect, especially, in the pricing part of the product. The tipster has a solid track record with leaks and it’s likely that the Google Pixel 9 Pro could be similar to the renders we’ve been seeing at the beginning of the year.
