A 15-year-old boy has been charged over the death of a 70-year-old man in Glasgow.

Police were called shortly before midnight on Friday to reports the victim had been seriously assaulted and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teenager arrested and charged in connection with the death is expected to appear in court. Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Alan Ferguson said: “Our thoughts remain with the deceased’s family and friends at this time as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

“I would like to thank the local community for their assistance with our inquiry.”
