As the seventh and final season of “Young Sheldon” approaches, fans are preparing for big moments on the show. The show explores the early life of The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper, all the while hinting at the eventual death of Sheldon’s father, George Sr. One of the most pivotal moments in Sheldon’s life was the death of his father when he was a teenager, an event that will take place in Season 7, according to the showrunners of The Big Bang Theory spinoff prequel Young Sheldon. .

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Steve Holland confirmed that the death of Sheldon’s father will be addressed in the final season. While no specific details were revealed, Holland claimed that the show’s goal is to stay true to the larger storylines and events that shaped Sheldon’s life, even if that means not following every joke or detail from The Big Bang Theory .

“I don’t want to say what you will or won’t see, but things will work out,” Holland explained. “We want to honor the larger canon and the larger events that shaped Sheldon’s life. We want to respect those,” he added.

He further said that despite the different tone, “Young Sheldon” will always exist in the same timeline as “The Big Bang Theory.” George Sr.’s death is an important part of Sheldon’s backstory, and it won’t be ignored or avoided in “Young Sheldon.”
