Speaking to LBC this morning, he said the Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) group had been “taking orders from Israel”. [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu bypassed all due process in government and exercised undue influence at the highest levels of government.”

Sky News understands the party has told Sir Alan he is under investigation – although this could take weeks.

In the interview, he singled out Lord Stuart Pollack and Lord Eric Pickles, honorary presidents of the Court of First Instance, as those who should be punished for their support of Israel.

Sir Allen also criticized former home secretaries Suela Braverman and Priti Patel, as well as promotion minister Michael Gove, deputy prime minister Oliver Dowden and former home secretary Robert Jenrick.

He also claimed that Security Minister Tom Tugendhat should be “fired” over his previous stance on Israel.

Sky News has contacted the Conservatives mentioned by Sir Alan in the LBC interview for their response.

Responding to news of the inquiry, Sir Alan said: “While I have heard nothing personally, I have been told by a number of media outlets that the Conservative Party has made a statement saying they will be open to my inquiry with a view to deportation.

“They have not provided any substantive justification for their actions.

“If this is indeed their intention, then I may be the only person to be condemned for upholding the policies of my party and defending the principles of international law and justice when others undermine it.

“If they choose to do this, they should not be surprised if it backfires hugely on them and proves to be dangerously damaging to their own reputations.”
