Former India batsman Ambati Rayudu recently opened up on the difference in culture between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Six-time IPL winner Rayudu started his career with MI, winning three titles in 2013, 2015 and 2017. He then jumped ship and joined CSK, ending his IPL career with three more titles, including one last year. Before announcing his retirement. Sharing his views on the contrasting atmosphere of both the franchises, Rayudu had said that playing for MI is a bit more challenging than playing for CSK.

“If we have to talk about culture, CSK focuses more on the process. They don’t analyze the results much. Their mood and temperament is not because of the results. MI is a little different. MI mostly wants to win “And their culture is like everything depends on winning. Their culture is to win (must win),” Rayudu told ESPNcricinfo.

Rayudu suggested that CSK has a much better environment for player development, but playing for MI can “blow your mind”.

“Both CSK and MI have two different cultures, but at the end of the day, both work hard. I think the environment at CSK is much better. You can play for a long time there. If you stay at MI for a long time, If you play for too long, you will lose your mind.” Jayega (Your mind will explode),” he said.

However, Rayudu has now posted a clarification on Twitter, saying that his comments about MI were “taken out of context”.

“My comments about Mumbai Indians were taken out of context. I only meant that the processes at MI are different and there is positive pressure in which a player develops, excels and becomes a complete player “The track record shows the kind of talent MI has,” Rayudu posted on Twitter. “I had the pleasure of spending eight years with you…I’m forever grateful.”

With Mumbai Indians struggling under new captain Hardik Pandya this season, Rayudu also urged the franchise to win some games.

“MI please win some games fast,” he said in the post.
