Ex-BJP MP says party's alliance with BJP in Haryana 'very dangerous'

After BJP’s Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as Haryana chief minister, Hisar MP Brijendra Singh on Tuesday said the alliance between the BJP and Janata Dal (JJP) is dangerous.

“For the past 1.5 years, we have been talking about this alliance in public and in party forums as very dangerous,” Brijendra Singh said.

Notably, Brijendra Singh resigned from the BJP on March 10 and joined the Congress party.

Speaking about the impact of his resignation, Mr Singh said: “I think since I resigned the day before yesterday, maybe they have started to realize that things have gotten out of hand. I think it was a big shock to them that I resigned.” “

He further hit out at the former alliance, saying: “No one understands that this alliance is dangerous, or maybe they don’t want to understand. An arrangement has been formed and everyone pretends to be happy with it.”

“Now they have parted ways with their alliance partners and are reforming the government. But I think it is too late. The BJP is aware of the ground reality. But they don’t want to admit it,” he further added.

Earlier in the day, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana at a swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh.

Four BJP leaders Kanwar Pal Gujjar, Jai Parkash Dalal, Moolchand Sharma and Banwari Lal were sworn in as Haryana cabinet ministers.

Besides, an independent MP Ranjit Singh also took oath under the administration of Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was also present.
