Police have launched a search for a knifeman who stabbed someone on a train in southeast London, leaving one man seriously injured and other passengers horrified.
The incident was captured in a video that later circulated on social media, with passengers panicking in the background as the suspect stabbed the victim.

When did the stabbing occur?
British Transport Police were called to reports of a fight between two men as they entered a train at Shortland station at around 3.56pm on Wednesday.
On the way to Beckenham Junction station, the victim was stabbed multiple times and suffered serious injuries.

The video shows a man wearing a down jacket and mask attacking the victim, who appears to be cowering on the floor with a large knife in his hand.
Passengers can be heard calling police and asking for an ambulance, while a woman yells for him to stop.
Police attended the scene along with the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service and the victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Media appeals have since been launched for information and investigations are underway while the suspect is found.

What did the police say?
BTP Assistant Chief Constable Allan Gregory said: “This is an incredibly concerning incident that happened in broad daylight in front of other passengers.
“There will be increased police presence at police stations across the region overnight into Thursday as extensive inquiries continue.
“We do not believe there is any risk to the wider public. However, we urge people to come forward with any information that may help us. Please text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 397 of 27 March.”
