Elizabeth Hurley explains why she’s absent from third ‘Austin Powers’ movie

Elizabeth Hurley is opening up about her absence from the third Austin Powers movie, explaining why she was unable to film.

during her appearance Watch What Happens Live with Andy CohenHurley revealed she was unable to film because she was pregnant with her son Damian, now 21, at the time.

“When I was offered, I said to them — they were the first people besides my immediate family to know — I said, ‘Guys, I’m pregnant.’ I was also pregnant with my son ,” Hurley, 58, recalled.

“I said, ‘So, unless you actually shoot it next week, I don’t think I can shoot it.’”

Hurley also detailed that she raised her concerns with executives, but they ignored her concerns.

“I gained 63 pounds while I was pregnant,” she told host Andy Cohen. “I was like, ‘No, no, you don’t understand. You really have to shoot it as fast as possible.”

So, when filming began, the camera couldn’t cover the baby’s belly. “So, it’s not my fault,” she insisted.

“It’s like Dr. Evil got me pregnant as soon as I left, so that’s not going to work!”

Hurley appeared in the first two Austin Powers films, playing the spy’s love interest Vanessa Kensington in the 1997 film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and 1999 Austin Powers: The Spy Who Fucked Me.
