Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson thanks troops for service during hospital visit

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson experienced a “life-changing day” while visiting veterans at Walter Reed Military Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, on Wednesday.

The 51-year-old wrestler-turned-actor, who is known for his recent gesture of blowing up superfans at WrestleMania, shared an emotional video on his Instagram where he expressed his gratitude to the soldiers for their service at the country’s largest military medical center Did.

The video shows Johnson interacting with injured service members and sick children, hugging and taking selfies with many of them.

Johnson wrote in the caption, ‘Spending time with our soldiers at Walter Reed Military Hospital is a life-changing day.

“Looking into the eyes of our soldiers and children – men and women – and spending time with them as they grapple with their injuries and challenges is a way to remind us all of what life is all about.”

He continued his heartfelt message, adding, “And we are so lucky to live in freedom. Because of them. Thank you for your service.”

He added, “I will always support you and fight for you and always help you – just like you’ve helped us. An unforgettable day. I love you back. Stay strong.”

The Rock has become a familiar face at the hospital, with his most recent visit coming in November of last year.

Around that time, he also met with Senate representatives to discuss military conscription, leading to discussion about a possible White House bid.

During an appearance on Trevor Noah’s What Now podcast in 2023, Johnson mentioned that he had been flooded with requests to run for office.

“At the end of the year…in 2022, I had a chance to meet with parties, they asked me if I was going to run and if I could run,” Johnson shared. “It was a huge thing. And it came out of the blue. And it was one after another.”
