Dwayne The Rock Johnson Gives Sneak Peek at Upcoming Derrick Jr. Film moana 2This comes just two months after Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the film was in development.

Johnson will return in the new film, reprising his role alongside actors including Ollie Cravalho.

Speaking at Cinemacon, fast and Furious The alum provided insight into the film, adding: “As we say on the island, aloha, playing the role of Maui was one of the most life-changing experiences for me and the life-changing character one.”

Commenting on his role in the film, he admitted that the role was “more than just a show” as it primarily represented his culture.

He further revealed that his character has the same tattoos as the actor himself and, most importantly, said the character himself is very close to his grandfather’s heart.

“It’s deeper than the movie for me, and I know it’s deeper for Disney,” Johnson said.

The story begins when Moana receives a call from her ancestors and embarks on a journey to the far seas of Oceania, entering dangerous, long-lost waters and embarking on an unexpected adventure.
