In a world full of people looking to buy fancy cars, a poor temple priest finally buys his dream scooter after years of saving. The priest saved the coins offered to him daily by devotees for three years to fulfill his age-old dream of owning a two-wheeler.

When the coins totaled Rs 1.30 lakh, enough to buy his dream scooter, he carried it in a sack and went to the TVS showroom. Surprising the representatives of the automobile showroom at Palamaner in Chittoor, the temple priest walked in with some big bags filled with coins of Rs 1, 2 and 5.

At first, the TVS dealer was reluctant to accept the coins as counting them was quite a task. But seeing the priest’s determination, he accepted the coins.

A video of Pujari standing in the showroom while the representatives were counting coins is going viral on social media.

The priest, Muralidhar Acharyulu, serves at the Kalabhairava Swamy temple in Byreddipalli, a village near the Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border.

“I collected Rs 1.3 lakh in coins from donations received from devotees so that I could buy a scooter,” said the priest.

In a similar case, a man named Boobathy V saved Re 1 coins for three years to buy his dream bike worth Rs 2.6 lakh. This man came into limelight when it took employees 10 hours to count the coins.
