Don’t forget your Apple Vision Pro password or you may lose all your data

If you buy the Apple Vision Pro, be sure to remember your password, as forgetting it can be a big problem. This is because, if you do forget, the only way to fix the problem is to go to an Apple Store or ship it to Apple Customer Support. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this has been a headache for early adopters of mixed reality headsets.

To complicate things further, Apple support staff has also received questions about setting up the new Optic ID biometric system. It’s similar to Face ID or Touch ID, but instead of scanning your face or fingerprint, it scans your eyes.

Here’s the thing: if you enter your password incorrectly too many times, your device can get disabled. After waiting for some time, if the error still occurs, your only option is to send it to Apple for a reset. This means all your data will be deleted.

Interestingly, this password issue is not an issue with other Apple products such as the Apple Watch. Since the Vision Pro is a first-generation product and Apple’s first new product line in nearly a decade, such issues are expected. Bloomberg reports that Apple’s own customer support is finding it challenging to deal with these issues.

Apple Vision Pro is currently only available in the United States. The Vision Pro is available in three models: a 256GB base model, a 512GB model, and a high-end 1TB model. They are priced at $3,499, $3,699 and $3,899 respectively.
