The pistol used to shoot dead former model Divya Pahuja in a hotel room here was recovered from Old Delhi Road on Wednesday, police said.
He said that the murder weapon was recovered after a massive search operation was conducted with the help of Gurugram Municipal Corporation.
Divya’s body was recovered from a canal in Haryana’s Fatehabad district on January 13, 11 days after she was shot dead inside a room at Hotel City Point.
The main accused, hotel owner Abhijeet Singh (56), was produced in the court today after completion of 13-day police remand. He has been sent to 14-day judicial custody, police said.
He said that Balraj Gill (28), who threw Divya’s body in the canal, is also on police remand and will be produced in the court on Thursday.
Police claimed that during the 13-day police remand, Abhijeet confessed to the crime that he had shot and killed Divya and upon his disclosure, the murder weapon was also recovered.
A senior investigating officer said Abhijeet told the police that he had shot Divya for personal reasons whereas earlier he had said that Divya was blackmailing him, so he killed her.
So far, Gurugram Police has arrested six people, Abhijeet, his partner Megha, Gill, Hemraj, Omprakash and Pravesh in the case.

Gurugram Police has arrested a total of six accused including Abhijeet in the Divya Pahuja murder case. ACP Crime Varun Dahiya said that Banga will be arrested soon and further investigation is underway.
Divya was in jail for over seven years for conspiring to carry out a fake encounter in Mumbai with her fellow gangster Sandeep Gandoli and rival gang leader Virendra Kumar alias Binder Gujjar on February 6, 2016.
At the time of Gandoli’s murder, Gujjar was in jail, but he hatched the plan with the help of his brother Manoj and involved Divya in it.
