India wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel has joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) training camp ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Yurel recently made his India debut in the five-match Test series against England, where he scored 190 runs in 4 innings in 3 games. With less than a week left for the IPL, Rajasthan will be looking to continue their excellent run after narrowly missing out and losing to the Gujarat Titans in last season’s final.

The Rajasthan-based team’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared a small clip of the youngster joining the team.

“This is the only way you deserve to be welcomed, @dhruvjurel21,” RR wrote on X.

Ahead of the start of the new season, RR on Tuesday launched the ‘Pink Promise’ jersey, which they will wear in their IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 6. The jersey will be dedicated to ‘Rajasthan and Empowering Women of the Nation”.

The Bandhani pattern on the jersey represents the ancient art of tie-dye, a characteristic of traditional women’s wear in Rajasthan. The jersey will also feature visuals of solar panels, which provide clean energy to women in rural Rajasthan.

RR strengthened their squad in the IPL 2024 auction by acquiring the likes of Rovman Powell, Shubham Dubey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Abid Mushtaq and Nandre Burger.
