Dharmendra ‘sad’ over Esha Deol’s divorce, wants her to reconsider her decision: Report

Days after Esha Deol announced her separation from husband Bharat Takhtani, her father Dharmendra was reportedly “saddened” by her decision. If recent reports are to be believed, Dharmendra wants Ayesha to reconsider her decision to separate from Bharat.

“No parent would be happy to see their child’s family break up. Even Dharmendraji was a father and his pain was understandable. It was not that he was against his daughter’s decision to separate but he was asking her to reconsider Let’s take the decision,” Bollywood Life quoted a source as saying.

Insiders believe that both Esha and Bharat are very close to Dharmendra. The article further stated that although the veteran actor did not object to his daughter’s decision, he firmly believed that the separation would affect the children. “He was really sad and that’s why he wanted them to reconsider their separation. Esha and Bharat have two daughters, Radia and Miraya. They were very close to their grandparents’ father and mother. The separation had a great impact on the children. So Dharamji feels that if the marriage can be saved, they should save it,” the source added.

Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani got married in 2012 but announced their separation earlier this month after 11 years together. The pair released a joint statement revealing they had decided to part ways “mutually and amicably”. “We have mutually decided to part ways amicably. The best interests and well-being of our two children are of the utmost importance to us through this transition in our lives. We hope that our privacy will be respected,” their statement read. The two are parents to daughters Radia and Miraya, aged six and four respectively.

Earlier, another report on Zoom claimed that Esha and Bharat’s divorce didn’t come as a surprise to anyone in the family as it had “been brewing for a while.” It was further reported that Aisha’s mother, veteran actress Hema Malini, supports her daughter’s decision but does not want to talk about it.
