Former Delhi batsman and top run-scorer in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Milind Kumar, has been included in the United States squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, starting from June 1. Former Mumbai left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh has also got a place in the team.

The 31-year-old Mumbai-born player featured for the Indian team during the 2012 Under-19 World Cup, and also played state cricket for Rajasthan Royals and Tripura in 2013.

He made his American cricket debut in 2021, leading the Seattle Thunderbolts in minor league cricket.

Another Mumbai-born fast bowler, Saurabh Netravalkar, played in the 2010 U19 World Cup, the batch in which stars like KL Rahul, Jaydev Unadkat and Mayank Agarwal represented the senior Indian team.

However, some famous Indians and members of the 2012 Under-19 World Cup-winning team – Unmukt Chand (captain) and Smit Patel (wicketkeeper) – failed to find a place in the team.

Another famous face in the team is former New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson, who represented the Black Caps in the 2015 ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup in 2014 and 2016.

He moved to the US in 2023 and made his debut with the team in a T20 match against Canada last month.

Pakistan-born fast bowler Ali Khan, who was recruited by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020, is also included in the squad.

The United States will begin its campaign on the opening day against neighbors Canada, having been drawn in Group A along with India, Pakistan and Ireland.
