Weather Update: Dense fog affected flight and train services in the national capital, with some flights even cancelled.
Delhiites woke up to another day of biting cold as the minimum temperature dropped to four degrees Celsius. Along with the cold wave, dense fog is also present in the national capital.
Operation of many trains and flights was affected due to poor visibility. Several flights were also canceled at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had also predicted dense to very dense fog conditions over North India during the next five days.
Everyday work is being affected due to cold wave
Due to severe cold, people kept sitting near the bonfire to save themselves from the cold. Some people took shelter in government-run shelter homes to protect themselves from the cold during this season.
Meanwhile, the rehearsal for the Republic Day parade was also affected. The practice took place on the duty path on Wednesday.
People waiting at the airport and railway station had to wait for hours. A passenger at IGIA told ANI, ‘My flight is delayed by more than two hours due to bad weather. However, we cannot blame anyone. We can’t do anything about it.”
While another person waiting at the New Delhi railway station said, “I am traveling to Kerala. My train, Kerala Express, is five hours behind schedule.”
