Deanna Stellato-Dudek breaks the glass ceiling and becomes the oldest woman to win a figure skating title at age 40 CNN the report said.

She and her 32-year-old partner Maxime Deschamps defeated Japan’s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara to win the pairs figure skating title.

The couples event is considered the most difficult because the women are thrown into the air by their partner, about 10 feet in the air.

Strato Dudek retired in 2001 at the age of 17 after suffering a series of injuries including a broken ankle, torn ligaments in his right ankle and a serious hip injury.

Before retiring, she had an impressive junior career as a singles player, winning the 1999-2000 International Junior Grand Prix final and a silver medal at the 2000 World Junior Championships.

Stellato-Dudek retired as a cosmetologist after 16 years.

In 2016, she decided to return to the ice rink again, but finding a dance partner was difficult.

“I called every coach I’ve ever met in my life to see if they were available,” she said in an interview.

She quickly connected with Deschamps and the rest is history.

Now, the two are aiming to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
