India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja found himself at the center of a family controversy after his father criticized the cricketer’s wife in an interview. Jadeja immediately criticized the ‘suspicious’ interview, but refused to go into details. However, after winning the Player of the Match award in India’s win against England in the Rajkot Test, Jadeja dedicated the honor to his wife Rivaba. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jadeja revealed how hard his wife is working behind the scenes to help him reach greater heights on the field.

“Taking 5 wickets in the second innings is a special feeling. And that too, getting a century and taking 5 wickets in the same Test is special,” Jadeja said in a video.

He said, “This is a special Man of the Match on my home ground. I want to dedicate this award to my wife. She is working hard mentally behind the scenes. She always gives me confidence.”

Earlier, Jadeja had said that the claims made by his father in the interview were ‘meaningless and false’.

“The things mentioned in the dubious interview with Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and false. They are one-sided comments which I deny. The attempt to tarnish my wife’s image is unfair and condemnable. I too have a lot to say but it would be better if I should not reveal those things publicly,” Jadeja had said.
