British Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron will meet Donald Trump in Florida on Tuesday before holding talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Lord Cameron will Mr TrumpIt then traveled to Washington, D.C., for discussions with Blinken, others in the Biden administration and members of Congress, a Foreign Office spokesman said.

“His talk [in Washington] There will be a focus on a range of shared US and UK priorities, including ensuring international support for Ukraine and bringing stability to the Middle East,” they said.

The spokesman downplayed Lord CameronInterview with former US President Mr Trump, who is seeking to return to the White House this November US election.

“Ministers’ meetings with opposition candidates are part of their regular international interactions,” they said.

Lord Cameron has no plans to meet the current US president Joe Biden.

On Monday, the foreign secretary called on the United States to implement its aid package for Ukraine.

“Ukraine must win this war. If Ukraine loses, we all lose,” he wrote in an op-ed with French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne.

“The cost of not supporting Ukraine now will be far greater than the cost of ostracizing Putin.”

Lord Cameron said in a social media message shared last week that he intended to use the trip to pressure the United States to help fund the war effort in Ukraine.

“The UK has provided funds to Ukraine this year. So has the EU,” he wrote on X. “America needs to do this. But it’s being blocked in Congress.”

“Speaker Johnson can make this happen in Congress. I’m going to see him next week and say we need this money, Ukraine needs this money.

“In Ukraine, America’s security, Europe’s security, Britain’s security are at risk, and they need our help.”

At the same time, according to reports published by US media on Monday, Trump “often boasts” that he “can negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours if elected.”

The Washington Post stated that if Trump returns to the Oval Office, he will urge Ukraine to give up territory and propose that Ukraine cede Crimea and the Donbass border area to Russia.

Foreign policy experts warned that the policy would “reward Vladimir Putin” and “enable the use of force to violate internationally recognized borders.”
