Dakota Johnson’s latest film Mrs. Weber is now in theaters and breaks new ground in superhero movies. It has an interesting cast, a great creative atmosphere, and the producers have added new characters and storylines that transport Marvel fans into a new world. Despite its novel concept, the film received mixed reviews and suffered at the box office. “Madame Web” was released alongside the music biopic “Bob Marley: A Love,” which currently dominates the series.

Mrs. Weber is a superhero suspense thriller starring Dakota Johnson that showcases a connection to Spider-Man. The film came in second with $17.6 million over the traditional weekend and $25.8 million in the six days between Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day, Variety reported. As a result, the film premiered in 61 markets around the world, grossing $25.7 million.

On the other hand, “Bob Marley: One Love” dominated the opening box office, taking in $27.7 million over the weekend and $51 million over the six-day run.

Earlier, Dakota Johnson told The Wrap that when she accepted to join Mrs. Weber, the script was completely different. The actress revealed that the final draft of the film bore no resemblance to the original script. She added that because of Cassandra Webb’s clairvoyant powers, the plot needed to span multiple versions of the past, present and future, so those scenes were difficult to perform during filming.

Talking about the difficulties during filming, the actress said: “A lot of different camera settings were added and the workload tripled. It was very complex and there were only tiny differences between each version of the same scene, so it was like Puzzle-like, and really focusing on the moment we’re in, the angle we’re in, and continuity and things like that.”

Dakota Johnson plays Cassandra Webb, commonly known as “Mrs. Webb” in the Marvel movies. Cassandra is a former paramedic who developed psychic skills after a near-death experience that allowed her to sense events in the future. In the plot, she also imparts her telepathic skills to Julia Carpenter, played by Sydney Sweeney.

The cast also includes Isabella Merced, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Adam Scott, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps and Zosha Mamet . The film is directed by SJ Clarkson, best known for her work on the award-winning series Succession.
