Recently, there was a shocking incident in which a woman took a 68-year-old man, said to be her uncle, in a wheelchair to a bank in Brazil to try to get him to sign a loan.

However, it was soon discovered that her uncle had died hours earlier.

The disturbing visuals of the incident attracted attention after a video of the incident was shared on social media and quickly went viral.

Earlier this week, employees at a Rio de Janeiro bank called emergency services after becoming suspicious of a woman who wheeled a man in and applied for a loan in his name.

“The woman was arrested after emergency personnel arrived and determined the man was deceased,” police said.

Police in the Bangu district on Rio’s west side booked the woman for fraud and attempted theft by defilement of a corpse, they said.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine how and when the man died.

Brazilian media reported that the woman claimed to be the man’s niece and attempted to apply for a loan of approximately $3,250 in his name.

“She was trying to make it look like he was signing documents,” local investigation chief Fabio Luis told the news site. G1. “But when he entered the bank he was dead.

“The woman’s lawyer denies the allegations.
