President Drupadi Murmu on Wednesday said it is difficult for a country and society to progress if half of the population, namely women, stay at home. “Of the country’s 1.4 billion people, 700 million are women. If they sit at home, how will the country and society function? How will the country progress? In order to run the country and manage the family, the cooperation of men and women is necessary,” Mu said Ermu said this while addressing tribal women associated with the Beneshwardam self-help group in Dungarpur district. She said that the country’s progress is due to the cooperation of men and women, and people have high hopes for India.

“I believe that in the future you (women) will also play a leading role in making India a developed country. The future of the entire India will become bright because of the power of your success. I wish all your daughters and sisters a bright future future,” Murmu said. The President termed the living values of tribal communities as exemplary and urged everyone to learn from them and live efficiently by living in harmony with nature.
