Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that there are years of hard work behind the completion of the BAPS Hindu temple and the dream of many people is closely associated with this religious place and it will become a symbol of unity and harmony.
The Prime Minister, who inaugurated the magnificent temple, said the role played by the UAE government in the construction of the temple deserves praise.
Prime Minister Modi said: “The UAE has written a golden chapter. The completion of the temple is the result of many years of hard work. The dreams of many people are closely related to the temple. Swaminarayan’s blessings are also closely related to the temple.”
“This temple will become a symbol of unity and harmony…The role played by the UAE government in the construction of the temple is commendable,” he added.
The Prime Minister said that a large number of devotees will visit the temple in the coming days and years.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The majestic Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Temple, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi.
Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Ishwarcharandas Swami of BAPS on his arrival at the temple. He prays and performs aarti in the temple. The temple was inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchmi.
The consecration ceremony of the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi was held before the inauguration ceremony. Prior to the inauguration, priests performed a ceremony.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in the UAE on a two-day visit on Tuesday and spoke about the BAPS temple at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ diaspora event held yesterday.
He thanked the UAE President for approving the BAPS Hindu temple and said that this reflects his love and respect for India and this would not have been possible without his love and support.
Notably, the Mandir is the first traditional Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates and is located on 27 acres of land generously donated by the UAE leaders. The estimated cost of this magnificent building, a testament to the dedication and commitment of the community, is AED 400 million.
The presence of the BAPS Hindu Temple is a testament to the architectural splendor and cultural significance of the heart of the region, marking the first stone Hindu temple in the region and proudly being the largest temple in West Asia.
