Coronation Street star William Roach has been given three months to pay back his tax debt.
Amount owed by actor – who played Ken Barlow in long-running Soap – The information was not revealed during a hearing at London’s High Court on Monday.
However, the star’s lawyers asked the court for a 12-week adjournment to allow the property to be sold.
The court also heard that the amount owed by the actor had been reduced as previous payments had been made.
Retired Insolvency and Companies Court judge Stephen Baister granted the extension on Monday, a decision that lawyers for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) did not object to.
The case will return to court in June.

The 91-year-old did not attend Monday’s hearing, which lasted less than a minute.
The actor is best known for playing Barlow in the ITV soap, which he has starred in for 60 years, having made his debut in the soap’s first episode in 1960.

Roach was a soldier in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in his youth. After retiring, he turned to acting and currently holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s longest-serving television soap opera star.
In December 2021, he was included in the Queen’s New Year Honors List and received an OBE for his services to theater and charity.
