Congress announces candidates for 9 more Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh

The Congress party on Sunday announced its candidate list for nine more Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The Central Election Committee of the party announced Srikakulam, Viziannagaram, Amalapuram (SC), Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Ongole, South Candidates from Diyala, Ananthapur and Hindupur constituencies.

According to a press release from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Jagna Goutham will compete against the likes of Amalapuram (SC), Valluru Bhargav (Vijayawada) and BA Samad Shaheen (Hindupur).

The Communist Party of India (CPI), the Congress Party and the Communist Party of India (M) are India’s alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress has announced the list of candidates for 126 Assembly seats and 20 Lok Sabha seats. This great old party has entered into seat-sharing agreements with the CPM and CPI. Left parties will contest one Lok Sabha seat and eight parliamentary seats respectively.

The elections for Andhra Pradesh’s 175 assembly members and 25 Lok Sabha seats are scheduled to be held on May 13, with counting of votes on June 4.
