A pre-wedding party turned violent after a businessman pushed a man off the terrace of a five-star hotel in Uttar Pradesh after an argument with his son. CCTV cameras installed at a Bareilly hotel captured the gruesome incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday. In one of the images, the victim can be seen touching the defendant’s feet before he is thrown off the terrace.

The victim, Sarthak Agrawal, a businessman in the health department, has been admitted to a medical college and is in critical condition.

The victim had gone to the hotel for a party with his friends, including Ridim Arora, whose father threw Mr Agrawal from the terrace. An argument broke out between them shortly after, which escalated into a physical altercation around 2 a.m. Riding then called his father Sanjeev Arora, a textile businessman, to the scene.

The video shows a heated argument taking place between the two groups before Sanjeev Arora enters the frame. Agrawal was seen touching his feet and Arora grabbed him by the collar, slapped him and pushed him off the hotel terrace. He didn’t stop there and turned to a man standing next to him and punched him.

Sanjay Agrawal, Sathak Agrawal’s father, denied any contact with the accused, saying: “Neither my son nor I know who these people are.”

A preliminary information report stated that the accused was drunk and attacked the victim without any provocation. A case of assault causing grievous hurt has been registered in connection with the incident.
