CBI files charge sheet against former Jammu -Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, six other people in Kiru Hydel Project Case

The Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on Thursday filed a charge sheet against former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik and six others regarding the Kiru Hydro Electric Project of Jammu and Kashmir.

The charge sheet was filed against Satyapal Malik, two of his private secretaries and four others.

Malik served as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir between August 23, 2018 and 30 October 2019.

The case is related to alleged corruption in providing a contract for civil work for Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) of Rs 2,200 crore in Kishtwar in 2019.

In February 2024, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at more than 30 places, which included campuses associated with former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, which was part of its investigation into alleged corruption for a contract for a contract for a contract for a hydel project in the union area.

The case is related to alleged corruption in providing contracts for civil work for Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) of Rs 2,200 crore in Kishtwar in 2019.
