Balia (Part 1):
Four persons have been booked in connection with an incident in which meat was found at a temple in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday.
Sikanderpur police station SHO Dinesh Pathak said a piece of meat was found at the Hanuman temple in Maldah Chatti area on Saturday afternoon.
When the temple-goers discovered the meat, they became furious and blocked the Sikandarpur-Belthra highway in protest.
The blockade ended after police assured protesters that action would be taken against criminals.
Pathak said Ram Dayal and Ram Dayal were charged under Section 295 (desecration of place of worship) of the Indian Penal Code on a complaint filed by Amber Pandey, an official of a Hindu right-wing organization. Ram Niwas, Kamaluddin and Manzoor filed an FIR against Hasan.
Police said force was deployed in the village to prevent any clashes.
