Indian cricket team’s great batsman Sunil Gavaskar had a heated exchange with Yashasvi Jaiswal after leading Rajasthan Royals to victory over Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2024 match on Monday. Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 104 as RR easily chased down the target of 180 against a poor MI bowling attack. This was Jaiswal’s second IPL century and coincidentally, his first century also came against MI. After the match, Gavaskar asked ‘Mumbai Boy’ Jaiswal why he always scores centuries against MI and the exchange has gone viral on social media. Jaiswal immediately replied that he had nothing special in mind and was just trying to do what was good for him.

Gavaskar: “Brilliant! Sunil here. This is your second century against Mumbai Indians. And you are a Mumbai boy. What is it that compels you to score these centuries against them? Can’t you score these centuries against others ?”

Jaiswal: “Nothing. I guess I’m just trying to do what I do well. Some days are hard, some days are good. And I was just playing. That’s all. Nothing on my mind Was.”

Talking about the match, Yashasvi regained his form and scored a brilliant century to lead Rajasthan Royals to victory over Mumbai Indians. Earlier, despite Sandeep Sharma’s five-for and Yuzvendra Chahal’s 200th IPL wicket, Tilak Verma and Nehal Wadhera took MI to 179/9.

In reply, Jaiswal looked in sensational form as he made short work of the run chase and was brilliantly assisted by Jos Buttler and RR skipper Sanju Samson.

“I really enjoyed it from the start and I made sure I was seeing the ball properly and playing proper cricketing shots. I’m trying to do what I do well, some days it would have been nice And some days it doesn’t happen, I’m not thinking much. I want to thank all my seniors for the way they guided me. I thank Rajasthan Royals management and especially Sanga sir and Sanju Bhai. I want to thank them for giving me opportunities and giving my best in the practice sessions and I am very happy today,” Jaiswal said.
