Britain’s crumbling coastline: deciding what should be saved and what shouldn’t be saved

Climate change is causing storms to become more extreme and sea levels to rise, threatening the future of coastal communities across the UK.

The British Geological Survey says that without further sea defences, up to 1.35 million homes could be at risk by the end of the century.

On this week’s Climate Radio show hosted by Tom Heap, the team in the Isle of Wight and north Norfolk hear from people who have lost their homes to the sea and others fighting to protect their properties .

Tom also addressed those who decide what should and should not be rescued from the sea.
