The dog walker’s killer remains at large and detectives say they believe the answer to the crime “lies in the local community”.
Brian Low, 65, was walking his black Labrador on a remote track in the Pitilie area of the suburb of Aberfeldy at around 8.30am on Saturday, February 17. The dog was shot dead.
His dog was found safe and sound by his side.
Low’s death was initially treated as non-suspicious and medical-related until concerns were raised days later.
Two doctors eventually performed an autopsy on Friday, February 23, confirming that he had been shot.

She said: “The extensive investigation into Brian’s death continues and I am urgently appealing for information from anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us.
“We have carried out a series of additional inquiries over the past few days and it is important that we keep an open mind as to the possible motive in this case.
“Thankfully, incidents like this are extremely rare and we understand the significant impact this has on the people of Aberfeldy.
“We believe the answers to this investigation lie within the local community. Someone knows something.
“Even if you feel that the information you have is not important, we still ask that you contact us. This may be crucial in getting the answers that Brian’s family needs.”

Police are urging anyone in the surrounding area who has dashcam, private CCTV or doorbell footage from around the time of Mr Liu’s death to speak to the investigation team.
Police are still patrolling the area and conducting house-to-house inquiries as the investigation continues.
