A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after stabbing a teenager in Wolverhampton.

Harleigh Hepworth, 17, was found with stab wounds in West Park around 4.30pm on March 7.

West Midlands Police said the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder and will appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A second boy, 17, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Ed George said: “Our thoughts are with Harley’s family and friends.

“We have now charged a boy over Harry’s death but our inquiries continue.

“Extra patrols in the area will continue to reassure the community and provide support to all those affected.”
